"Excuse me?" Rukia asks, although for once her voice ranges slightly more on petulance than it does real offense. Because she suspects that he's joking — why his face can't be anything like a normal person's when it comes to humor, Rukia doesn't know — and not genuinely trying to make a stab at her personality. But, try or not, he does hint at some abrasion in her mannerisms. So she pouts, glancing down at her cake. "If I'm not normally sweet, it's only because I constantly spend my time keeping you in line."
Curling further on her chair, Rukia grabs a fork of her own and glances down at the slice of cake. She enjoys sweet foods a lot more than she should, and it shows on her face when she takes her first bite, eyes sliding closed and cheeks slightly flushed in girlish enjoyment.
